9-Days Discovering Kenya Savannas, Forests and Waterfalls

Pick up from Nairobi airport/hotel and departure to Aberdare National Park. During the journey the landscape takes on colors and the temperatures are typical of the mountain environment, we are 16 km from the Equator surrounded by very high peaks. We will stop for a short trekking experience to reach Thomson's Falls, a 74-meter panoramic waterfall on the Ewaso Nyiro River, which drains from the Aberdare mountain range. We are in the center of Kenya at 2,360 meters above sea level.

Game drive activities in «Solio game reserve»
The Solio Lodge is located in a private wildlife sanctuary, hidden in the valley between the high slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains.
The Solio Reserve is internationally recognized as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in Kenya and visitors will find sightings of 40 rhinos at the time are not uncommon. The wildlife experience here is intense and exclusive.

Breakfast and departure to Samburu.
Mount Kenya and its woods will be visible along the way. Going up north we will see the first typical Samburu huts, a tribe closely related to the Masai. In about three hours we will be at the Samburu gate and start the game drive and photo safari.
Lunch at the camp and relax. Afternoon game drive out on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River until sunset.
Return, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast and departure to Meru. We will move to routes less frequented by classic tourism, Meru is a park with very different environments. Crossed by rivers and full of date palms, we will also travel at times in a dry and golden savannah. Meru also offers us a view of Mount Kenya and an abundance of fauna. Meru reminds us of the story of the lioness Elsa, during the 1950s Joy and George Adamson started the project to reintroduce the lioness Elsa into the natural environment. Staying at the luxury lodge, Elsa's Kopje (Elsa's Hill), it will be possible to experience unforgettable emotions in a place full of photographic and decorative memories linked to the lioness's "human" friends.

Breakfast and game drive in the park. We have the opportunity to visit the clearing where the lioness Elsa was buried. We will see large herds of buffalo, hippos along the river as well as crocodiles, felines and antelopes, the famous Gevy's zebra, al kudu and the reticulated giraffe. Return for lunch and relaxation in the afternoon. Evening under the stars and the scents of the savannah.

Breakfast and departure for the savannahs of the Laikipia Plateau in the Ol Pejeta reserve. The landscape from Meru to Laikipia is both mountainous and hilly, at times small patches dedicated to the cultivation of tea and coffee. Central Kenya is world famous for the cultivation of flowers. We stop to capture a few shots of our passage on the equator line.

Day dedicated to game drive in the Plateau Laikipia. Laikipia is a wonderful and interesting place. Today many of the old cattle ranches have been converted into luxurious safari lodges where you can go horseback riding, walk the hills with local Maasai, and learn about the conservation efforts that have made Laikipia famous. We will still see plenty of wildlife, from the black rhino to the beautiful Grevy's Zebra that resides in these hills. We will visit the private conservation area of ​​Ol 'Pejeta with particular emphasis on the space for the protection of rhinos and chimpanzees in their respective sanctuaries.

Breakfast and departure to Nairobi. Arrival at your hotel at lunchtime.
In the afternoon we will visit the Giraffe Center, the Karen Blixen Museum and a short tour of the city. Alternatively game drive in Nairobi National Park
