Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Night safaris are also possible in Ol Pejeta, offering the opportunity to spot the nocturnal creatures that roam these grasslands.

The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is located here and offers a refuge for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees from certain death. This is the only place in Kenya where you will be able to see chimpanzees. At the Sweetwaters Sanctuary, the chimps are back to health and enjoy the rest of their days safely in a vast natural enclosure.

The Endangered Species Enclosure is the only area in the park that is fenced off for animals. Here you will find black and white rhinos that need to be monitored around the clock to protect them from poaching.

The enclosure is home to the last two northern white rhinos left in the world (both females). Grevy's zebra and Jackson's wildebeest are also kept in the endangered species enclosure. Poaching and habitat loss have greatly reduced their numbers and they now need urgent protection.
